Early detection of infectious disease is important to the prevention of its spread. Apart from statutory notifiable infectious diseases which are reported by registered medical practitioners, the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) also encourages institutions or schools to report suspected institutional outbreak of infectious diseases at institutions or schools to the CHP for investigation and recommendation of appropriate control measures.
Some common examples of institutional outbreaks are as follows:
- Respiratory tract infections
