The Department of Health to extend Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme on 1 January 2020 |

The Department of Health has fully implemented the Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme starting from 1 January 2020, further extending its coverage to Hong Kong residents aged 50 to 75, i.e. those born in the years 1944 to 1970, to enrol in screening tests subsidised by the Government for the prevention of colorectal cancer. Let’s support Hong Kong Cancer Day 2018 |

Organised by the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society, the 6th Hong Kong Cancer Day event was held on 9 December 2018 at the Piazza of Kowloon Park, and the Department of Health was one of the co-organisers. Launch of the Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme |

Healthy League Jumped into the Digital World |

The Department of Health and The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society co-organised the “Symposium on Cancer Control in the Western Pacific cum Launching of the Cancer Atlas 2nd Edition (Chinese Version)” on 12 December 2015. Over 20 professional bodies, academic institutes and cancer-related NGOs from Western Pacific regions shared their experiences in cancer control and promulgated the key content of the Cancer Atlas 2nd edition and launched the Chinese version of the Atlas. "Healthy League" Family Colouring Contest |

The Department of Health organised the “Healthy League” Family Colouring Contest in May 2015 to target children of primary school age. The contest aims to promote the “Healthy League” mascots, who are ambassadors of healthy lifestyle and cancer awareness as effective means of cancer prevention. The competition received overwhelming response and attracted more than 1,500 entries. The adjudication panel met to select ten outstanding entries according to the criteria of creativity, use of colour, drawing skills and relevance to the theme. Community Liaison Division of the Centre for Health Protection organised Health Promotion Sharing Forum on 22 May 2015 with the theme of cancer prevention. The speakers include Professor Lam Tai-hing, Dr Duncan Tung, Dr Joyce Tang, Mr Stephen Chan and Ms Chau Chuen-heung. The Forum provided an interactive platform for sharing information on cancer prevention and screening and valuable experiences of working with communities for promoting healthy lifestyles to prevent cancer.
