World Health Day 7 April 2011
Antimicrobial resistance – the theme of World Health Day 2011 – and its global spread, threatens the continued effectiveness of many medicines used today to treat the sick. On this day, WHO is launching a worldwide campaign to safeguard these medicines for future generations. To echo WHO's leadership in fighting against antimicrobial resistance, the Department of Health and the Hospital Authority jointly organised a Ceremony of Celebration on World Health Day, 7 April 2011 and a Scientific Symposium on Antimicrobial Resistance in the morning of the same day. |
