The Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases (Scientific Committee) recommends persons aged 50 years or above to receive seasonal influenza vaccination to protect from seasonal influenza and its complications, as well as reduce influenza-related hospitalisation and death.

To encourage persons aged 50 years or above to receive seasonal influenza vaccination, the Government provides free or subsidised seasonal influenza vaccination to the following eligible persons:

Applicable for doctors enrolled under Vaccination Subsidy Scheme(VSS). The doctor may impose extra fees, some doctors may not charge extra fees.

 Document(s) to be presented for vaccination:

  1. Hong Kong Identity Card@ or Certificate of Exemption; and
  2. The immunisation records (vaccination cards) (if any).

@ Except for those who obtained a Hong Kong Identity Card by virtue of a previous permission to land or remain in Hong Kong granted to him/ her and such permission has expired or ceased to be valid
