World Health Day is celebrated each year on 7 April to mark the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) and to highlight a priority area of global public health concern.
In 1948, countries of the world came together and founded the WHO to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable – so everyone, everywhere can attain the highest level of health and well-being.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the WHO. It is an opportunity to look back at public health successes that have improved quality of life, as well as motivate action to tackle the health challenges of today ̶ and tomorrow.
Please visit the WHO website (https://www.who.int/campaigns/75-years-of-improving-public-health/stories) for WHO’s 7 + 5 health stories for everyone, everywhere.
