New dimension
An integral component of the CHP is a series of health protection programmes administered by this Branch. Scientific committees will be formed on specific hazards of concern. Experts from various health care organisations, universities and private sectors will be invited to serve on the committees to advise on effective means to prevent and control diseases. Training and international collaboration will be another major role of the Branch.

Spectrum of work
• Coordinate and organise training activities for medical and nursing professionals of the CHP, the Hospital Authority and other institutions;
• Liaise with local and international institutions to arrange attachment and exchange programmes;
• Coordinate research, including research projects in collaboration with universities, the Hospital Authority and other government departments;
• Administer health protection programmes;
• Coordinate with various scientific committees; and
• Undertake health promotion activities.
